Light into a waiting chamber.

 

This is one of a handful of 'occasional' pieces that I have made, more or less on the spur of the moment, in response to something fairly ordinary. In the original synopsis for the piece, I simply wrote: 'light into a waiting chamber'. It was shot in shelter at my local train station. The light through the gaps in the brickwork made me think of a camera aperture or pixels in the surface of a screen. The difference between reflected light on the bricks and the direct light of the sky was interesting too. The array seemed somehow cinematic. Shooting the gaps in the wall in sequence, then as a group, and then superimposing them, makes for a properly cinematic subject.
